The College 101 Mentorship Program Application
The College 101 Mentorship Program is a year-long program for high school juniors who are interested in learning about college life, want to explore and access higher education institutions, desire assistance in the college application process, and would benefit from professional and personal mentorship from educators and university-level peers.
Each meeting, mentees will participate in activities with their college-level mentors and attend college readiness workshops such as:
- understanding the college application process
- preparing for standardized tests
- building a resumé & practicing employment and college admissions interviews
- completing high school requirements for college
- writing and developing essays
- understanding personal finance and financial aid
Students will also have the opportunity to explore Chapman University via campus tours and meetings with departmental representatives.
Student mentees in this program should have a love of learning and a dedication to exploring avenues that can lead them to achieve their goals. By applying to this mentorship program, you are making a commitment to attend meetings every other Saturday (excluding holidays) at the campus of Chapman University starting in February 2025 and ending in December 2025. Transportation is covered by the program. Pick-up will take place around 8:15am and drop-off around 1:15pm. Lunch and snacks are provided.
The College 101 Mentorship Program is committed to cultivating an accessible, welcoming, and representative educational environment. Regrettably, not all applicants can be accepted to the program due to limited space. The program's admissions decisions are made by College Access Partnership. Applicants who are not accepted to this mentorship program may be eligible for services from College Access Partnership.
The application deadline is Sunday, December 15th by 5pm. We look forward to reading your application and will send you an email confirming your submission within 72 hours.
